An Introduction to Vernon & Debbie and Their Ministry
Vernon and Debbie were married in 1979, having grown up together in the Pine Forge, Pennsylvania area. They have been blessed with one son, two daughters, and 7 grandchildren.
In addition to their busy lives operating a small farm in Monterey, TN, and conducting Country Living Classes, they are both very active in church work. They have had the privilege of being involved in the launch and nurture of two church plants, and are currently shepherding a small group in South Carolina.
Vernon has held various church offices over the years including being a Youth Director, Sabbath School Teacher & Superintendent, Personal Ministries Leader, Deacon & Head Deacon, Media Ministries Leader, and an Elder. Currently he is serving as Elder and Adult Sabbath School Teacher at the Cookeville SDA Church in Cookeville, TN.
Debbie has served as Sabbath School Superintendent, Church Clerk, Youth Director, Adult Sabbath School Teacher, Youth Sabbath School Teacher, Kindergarten Sabbath School Teacher, Church Hostess, Deaconess, Music Leader, and Music Ministries Director.
They delight in supporting other ministries that seek to bring God’s truth, His gospel message of love to a fallen humanity, to prepare a people to be ready for the second coming of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ through the proclamation of the Three Angels Message of Revelation 14.
The name of their ministry (Know the Savior, Today!) was inspired by the names of their three children (Kory, Soñée, Tia), and by the simple but powerful statement from Desire of Ages page 22 combined with the distillation of John 17:3 – “To know God is to love Him,” and to love God is life eternal. The focus of their ministry is to lead people to this saving knowledge of God.
The Lord has allowed them to share their testimonies of adoption & reconciliation, of brokenness & healing, of guilt & God’s cleansing forgiveness in several conferences and venues in North America (Allegheny East Conference, Pennsylvania Conference, South Atlantic Conference, Carolina Conference, Georgia Cumberland Conference, Kentucky-Tennessee Conference, the Quebec Conference in Canada, Oakwood University, Heritage Academy), and in Asia (Japan, Philippines, India, as well as in several locations in the Korean Union in S. Korea).
Vernon’s story has been published in the Columbia Union Visitor, the Reading Times newspaper, and the Korean Signs of the Times. They were interviewed by John Bradshaw, director of It Is Written, on his Conversations program in January of 2020. More recently, Angela Lomacang featured their story on 3ABN’s Crossroads radio program. This has opened up opportunities both locally (in the U.S.A), as well as abroad. As a result they have been able to share their testimonies with The Upward Way Ministry based in Japan to air on Adventist World Radio, and with The Final Herald Ministry out of India over Zoom. This was followed by an invitation from a church in the Philippines to share their testimonies with one of the churches there, again via Zoom. They praise the Lord for His goodness in broadening the reach of their ministry. They have been well-received everywhere the Lord has sent them. To HIM be all the GLORY!
